Danfoss variable frequency drives (VFDs) are used in three main areas of the HVAC system:

1. Fan modulation to control speed whether standalone or within DOAS (Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems), RTUs (Rooftop Units), or air handlers.
2. Pump motors to adjust flow.
3. Compressors to adjust turndown capabilities.
